Sunset at Bellochantuy Beach

Sunset at Bellochantuy Beach

Here’s an image of Sunset at Bellochantuy Beach taken last year, I was going to head out tonight but I already had my gear packed for a Christening shoot tomorrow, so rather than changing all my gear around again I’m posting an image I had in the bank.

This image was captured on a nice evening at one of my favourite locations on the West Coast of Kintyre.

Focus Stack

I was out a random walk with my dog Cain but had my gear with me just incase and glad I did. I had shot this image with the intention to focus stack it in photoshop, however after inspecting my original image I was happy with the focus in this image.

The image was shot with a Canon 6d, Canon 17-40 f4 L lens, f11, 1/2 a second and this lens is very sharp so I’m more than happy with the sharpness back to front in this shot.

Location Scouting

I’ve noticed that I am continually returning to the same locations, I’m sure a lot of Landscape Photographers do this, however I run the risk of my images starting to look the same, especially when you shoot mostly at sunset, as the background will always look the same.

So, I’m going to try and challenge myself this year and explore a bit more and do a bit more location scouting and add new locations to my repertoire.

Fun Foto Challenge

I’m posting this image in response to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge ‘Letter O’ give her a wee visit and take part.
