Sunset from Bellochantuy Beach
This week The Daily Post ask us to show them something that brings us ‘Satisfaction‘, for me apart from my family, I find Photography greatly satisfying, most of the time lol, as with this Sunset from Bellochantuy Beach shoot.
When you get everything right and get the image looking the way you want, the satisfaction from having spent hours in the freezing cold at night or the blisters on the feet from the long walk is worth it when you see your final image.
I really like long exposure photography, so much so that I never really paid much attention to shutter speeds of 0.5 – 1 second until a little while ago, now it’s one of the shutter speeds I’ll aim for straight away when I’m at the beach.
Trying to achieve a descent long exposure when the sun is still visible in the sky can be challenging, even with the us of filters, that why I have started to use the 0.5 – 1 second exposure tie a lot more, plus I really like the effect on the water it has.
At this exposure time it is much easier controlling your highlights than longer exposures.
Bellochantuy Beach is quickly becoming a favourite location for me, especially if I want to do some water images. It’s a cracking beach to walk and is always pretty quiet, well worth a visit if you are ever in Kinytre, see the image below for the location.
Here are a few of the images I captured on this trip, I’ll save the remaining images for other posts or social media posting.
