I have aptly named this image Sand Dune Fortress – Islay as the the way the wind has blown the sand reminds me of a fortress amongst huge rocks in some lonely desert. Shot with a shallow depth of field to blur out the foreground and background to focus the viewers attention on the little Sand Dune Fortress.
This image was taken along The Big Strand, Islay, Argyll, Scotland. The Big Strand is a great walk for people of all ages and with stunning views out towards Ireland on a clear day is a photographer’s dream especially at night time on a clear night for sunsets.
