Stricken Argent at Davaar Island, Campbeltown, Kintyre

I chose this image of a fishing vessel ‘The Argent’ for this weeks photo challenge ‘Abandoned‘ as I thought that it fitted in perfectly well with the theme as the boat has been left Abandoned by it’s crew after coming aground at The Red Rocks, Campbeltown Loch, Kintyre, Argyll, Scotland early one morning across from Davaar Island. The boat was left there and after only a few months it had been totally wrecked by the the tide.

  1. Reblogged this on Ian Moore-Morrans, Scottish Canadian Author and commented:
So many of James Collett’s photos remind us of stories from Ian’s memoir, “From Poverty to Poverty: A Scotsman Encounters Canada.” This photo that James just posted brings to mind Ian’s story of his stepfather Bill Moorhead building a boat from the remains of a wrecked vessel abandoned on the shores of Campbeltown Loch. We’ll post pertinent excerpts from the book along with this reposting of James Collett’s photo on our website: ianmooremorrans.com. Thanks for sharing another amazing photo, James.
