Kildalton Cross & Chapel

Continued my nocturnal photography last night with a wee trip up to Kildalton Cross & Chapel with a fellow keen/amateur photographer, Niall Colthart. Niall has done a lot more night time photography than me so it was good to pick his brain and get some nice learning tips from him, thanks Niall. Our intentions were to explore a few places however I think the both of us enjoyed it too much in situ experimenting with different colour filters and painting with light that we lost track of time a bit. However a lot of valuable tips learned and has whetted my appetite for more night time photography in the future.

As you can see we used blue and red filters to paint the cross and chapel with light which really adds to the atmosphere in these images. The image with the blue cross and blue door frame has to be my favourite of the three, the lit door implying that there is something inside drawing you into it,eerie 🙂
